Great epiose, I really liked Mark !
Just to initiate the debate, when Patrick said that he was afraid to talk too much about Blizzard, i was thinking that Blizzard is no longer in the center of video games news.
Ok there’s always Overwatch which is a great game but not THE esport game everyone was expecting (at least me). Hearthstone stay the master of CCG but with a lack of interest from the video games media coverage.
I was wondering if 2018 is going to be the year of a great news from Blizzard ? but with the Battle Royale tremendous successes, will Blizzard capable of coming back to the top ? I definetely hope so…

    • Yeah, I’m curious to hear if they have something to announce as well this year.
But I think Blizzard’s strength isn’t necessarily to have the ONE top game in the business, but to have like 3 or 4 that are consistently in the top 10 of active games (“as a service”). Hearthstone, Overwatch, Heroes (ok not as much, but still) and WoW (which is indeed still going strong. I don’t think many other companies managed that many different games that are that successful overall.

  2. Thanks for the episode.

On the subject of VR, Moss looks great, sad that it’s a PS VR exclusive. On PC I see Alice Mystery Garden that is most likely similar (but I have not started it yet).

But I still think room-scale VR on HTC-Vive is a much richer experience. I’m now playing a true “VR platformer”, To the top: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c58NYD0mpFs
That’s a totally different way of not making you sick: they make you hurl yourself with your arms, that way your brain considers the movement as plausible.

    Keep up the good work

    • This seems like a really interesting one! I’m curious to see how it works out… That being said, I still think that the most important thing for impressive VR is having your hands modeled in the world (via touch like controllers). That changes everything.
