@that one guy

I've just finished reading your post of July 1. I'm not sure why you felt the need to raise the issue of the religious beliefs of these notable folks from American history. The context seems oddly out of place.

I am even more perplexed with your notation on Joseph Stalin and how it has any bearing on the conversation either? Not disputing that Stalin was an atheist, how is this relavent to the discussion? He also had a mustache... what am I missing here?

Or are you trying to, albeit awkwardly, correlate a lack of belief in something as the direct, or even indirect, cause for something else? i.e. atheism=totalitarianism, or atheism=despotism etc.? Again, I don't see the connection. Maybe you're trying to say that because Stalin didn't believe in a god that he had no compunction in the atrocities he committed against his countrymen and others; because the presence of a god in Stalin's life would have prevented these things? Or that he wasn't properly fearful of the eternal reprocussions of his actions? Is that what your saying?

Perhaps you could illuminate further and we can respond.

Thanks,
Phil

Uh, Abraham Lincoln was Christian, and Einstein was agnostic. Not sure about the others though. Correct me if I'm wrong, as I haven't covered colonial ages for years, but if that is John Adams, he was a Unitarian.

Don't mean to be a sour apple, but I'm bored; look up this famous atheist and his famous atheist party: Joseph Stalin.
